Awoke from out first night on the boat this season to a beautiful morning. We are moored off Islesford Island (Little Cranberry).

We had been admiring a 37' Dufour moored near us. Particularly impressive was the sure-footedness the lady used getting in and out of her dinghy.

Next thing we know Maria is pulled up alongside us to say hi. |
 |
Dan very excited about his new tiller-extender. Bailey delivered it to us last night. |
We motored to nearby Northeast Harbor for fuel and provisions.
Finally, out errands run, we headed out. A beautiful day for sailing.

After covering some distance in ideal sailing conditions, we got the boat "balanced" and she sailed herself without auto-tiller for about an hour hands-free. We decided to take on some narrows, which was fun and challenging due to confused seas and wind.
Ultimately we approached Burnt Coat Harbor from the south. This was a little more complicated than the northerly approach we used last year. We decided to spend the night on anchor in Burnt Coat Harbor.

A final push to get things organized and ship-shape.
While I was organizing, Dan decided he wanted to go ashore. He called the The Island Market and Supply Store (TIMS) on Swans Island to see if they had lobsters. Brian, the owner said indeed they do. Dan rowed ashore and just a small bit up the road a truck pulled up and told him to hop in. Brian had driven to the dock to pick Dan up. |
Lobsters for dinner!!
Another fine day of sailing.
