I awoke before Dan to another beautiful morning in the Fox Island Thoroughfare between North Haven and Vinyl Haven Islands.

We had a leisurely breakfast on anchor and then headed South West in the direction of Owls Head.

| Dodge Point, Owls Head |
We set a hook on the periphery of of Owls Head Harbor in Owls Head Bay between Dodge Point and Monroe Island, but well out of the channel which is a popular thoroughfare for commercial and pleasure boats alike. We spent a while relaxing and tagging lengths on Dan's new anchor rode.

We rowed to the town dock and walked up the road a bit. When we found the "Upscale" general store, mentioned in the guide book, we discovered it was a typical Maine-type general store... and it was closed due to some issue with the septic system. The owner was very accommodating and opened the store to sell us drinks and snacks. Turns out that the general store IS the town center and that the Museum was a good three mile walk. Did I mention it was HOT? We opted to head back to the boat and make our way to Rockland Harbor which was the next one North of Owls Head.

We contacted David Allen, the Dockmaster at Journey's End Marina to enquire about a mooring for the night. He was very helpful and even boated out to meet us and guide us to a mooring. Dan rowed ashore, while I took care of some things onboard.
